These two chose to have their reception at Bascom Lodge, which sits atop Mt Greylock (the highest point in MA). The location was absolutely stunning and perfectly suited for the laid back and intimate party that Joanna’s parents, Carolyn and Richard, prepared for their guests! Of course we had to take advantage of the gorgeous background and get just a few more portraits
And the beautiful florals were done by Nina Whitnah (Micheal’s mother). She did such a beautiful job!!!
The music for the evening was provided by The Firefly Band from Homespun Occasions.
And of course Michael and Joanna were most excited about spending time with people they love
I also wanted to share a few of my favorite details of the day!!!
Oh, and I have to give Claire a shout-out for these fun hand stamped place cards! So simple and so fun
Michael and Joanna did sneak away for a few minutes to climb the tower and check out the panoramic view…
We passed this rock on our way to the after dinner dancing… on top of the mountain!!!
The band began by teaching the group a traditional celebratory “circle dance.”
Joanna and Michael actually got to know each other leading wilderness trips and when I saw these AT hikers watching them dance… the moment demanded to be recorded!
Then they moved on to a number of other lively dances that brought smiles and laughter from young and old
I did sneak them away for a few shots at sunset…
As darkness fell we returned to the lodge for the delicious cake (also baked by John Dudek)…
…and incredibly heartfelt tributes from Julia, Claire and Lucien!
