Game Days at CBF

These are some of my favorite images showing the ups and downs of game days.  The whole team at CBF takes their training and game days very seriously.  At the same time these boys love to play the game and I am so, so thankful to have had an open invitation to document their dedication and hard work on the pitch!

And we were off on an adventure!

Many of you have probably noticed the quiet on my blog over the past year.  I have come to grips with the fact that I am not a writer but unfortunately am still working on the fact that not every image in every post has to be perfect.  So John and I have been looking at going overseas for awhile and last fall was spent preparing to explore new places and career ideas.  We journeyed to Sierra Leone in January 2013 and stayed for 5 months.  Both of us taught, John did some accounting, we learned about sports photography through trial and error and we reveled in being part of a fantastic team of talented individuals doing their best to make a small difference in this world.  Running loosely from the beginning to the end of our stay I will be putting up groups of images to share about life at the Craig Bellamy Foundation in Tombo, SL.  Again these images are not perfect but I am going to start sharing more of what moves me… because embracing and documenting life where I am has been one of my biggest goals this year.  And now I have enough internet access to share them!

Matt & Katie : A Wayland Wedding Part I

It’s about time I put up more from my awesome summer weddings!!!  You might remember Matt and Katie’s together session at their renovation project of a new house…  Well now they have officially begun the adventure called marriage.  They have such a sweet love and I look forward to seeing them grow old together.  Now, I won’t take any more time from some of my favorite images from the first half of their big day!

Not only did Katie’s talented mom make all of the bridesmaids dresses but she also made a matching reception gown for Katie to slip into later in the day!

Opting for a first look meant that we were able to do a number of the bridal party formals before the ceremony… which always leads to a smoother day!  Also, is anyone else loving how bright and happy the bridesmaid’s dresses make this next image?

The boys had to head to the church but I got a few more posed and impromptu shots of Katie before it was time to join them!

The boys met us out front for this shot… and everyone is clearly excited to rock this wedding!

Stayed tuned for the ceremony and reception… and just wait until you see the surprise Matt and Katie’s parents were able to pull off for these two!!!
